Telehealth vs Pandemic: SK-Telemed led the list of Telemedicine providers on MEDICA 2020
SK-Telemed headed the top list of companies in the Telemedicine category at the annual medical industry exhibition MEDICA2020, overtaking more than 120 exhibitors from different countries.
New online format
Due to limitations caused by the pandemic, this year’s exhibition was held on November 16-19 in the format of online workshops and virtual stands. However, this unusual format without live handshakes did not significantly affect either the progress or the results of the exhibition. Companies had an opportunity to demonstrate their products online, provide promotional materials for visitors and exchange contacts on virtual stands.
The main trends of the event, of course, were outlined by the pandemic itself. This year we see a huge interest in digital tools for remote diagnostics, treatment and communication, as well as telehealth technologies — store-and-forward, telemonitoring, telemedicine, and mhealth.
Thus, in response to the challenges of COVID-19, the SK-Telemed company presented the flagman products — Show2Doc (telemonitoring & communication platform) and IDIS2GO (telehealth medical diagnostic system). These products are already being actively implemented in healthcare infrastructures in Austria, Poland, Brazil, Ukraine, and more than 10 countries.
Ms. Kateryna Chuchilina, co-founder and export director of SK-Telemed commented on this event:
“As always MEDICA was a great opportunity to introduce our latest additions to the expanding range of telehealth solutions at the same time discussing their benefits with doctors, physicians and managers from progressive hospitals and medical facilities around the world. Feedback has been overwhelming as virtual care is becoming a priority during this pandemic,” — she emphasized.
The company’s stand was fully dedicated to telehealth solutions against COVID-19. Proper treatment of COVID-19 at early stages can significantly reduce the number of severe cases and the need for hospitalization. Implementation of daily monitoring of health status and follow-up of prescriptions for patients in self-isolation and ambulatory treatment can become an effective instrument for timely detection of changes in symptoms.
Remote monitoring of COVID-19 patients who are on outpatient treatment with Show2Doc is a fundamentally new approach in healthcare based on SK-Telemed electronic solutions.
Show2Doc allows virtual care with possibility of complete outpatient treatment without in-person visits to the clinic: convenient task manager, chat for instant feedback, doctor prescription fulfillment control, user-friendly intuitive interface, patient diary, video calls in necessary cases (all measurements and symptoms are already entered by the patient).
